Overview: With February beng Heart Healt Month, Grace has planned to focus on healthy hearts. What does a heart attack look like in a male vs female? Focusing on keeping WMEPA members healthy and strong. We always focus on learning more about our patients/clients/residents but this month, Grace wants us to focus on taking care of ourselves! If we are not healthy and strong, how will we be able to care for others? This month we focus on self love.
Dr.Amir Lotfi is a cardiology specialist in Springfield, MA and has been practicing for 20 years. He graduated from Spartan Health Sciences University in 1999 and specializes in cardiology and interventional cardiology. Members of the Pioneer Valley Women's Running Club have agreed to present!

Overview: This month marks the 50th anniversary of the Stonewll Uprising in New York City. 50 years ago, lesbians and gay men could get arrested for being themselves. We will discuss continuity of care for LGBT older adults - including creating affirming environments, teaching staff awareness and extending your best practices for inclusive and welcoming services. J.M. Sorrell is a trainer for the Sojourner Truth School for Social Change Leadership. She is the spokesperson for Noho Pride and she has been leading LGBT cultural competence workshops for area agencies on aging, skilled nursing facilities, home care agencies, retirement communities, hospitals and senior centers throughout New England for 14 years.

He is the Associate Program Director for UMMS - Baystate Geriatrics Fellowship Program, practices inpatient Geriatrics and Palliative Care Consultation services at Baystate Medical Center. He is interested in delirium, dementia, advance care planning and pain management. Dr. Kim will be talking about the opioid epidemic and how it relates to the elderly.
